St. Andrew's Church: Roker, Sunderland 1905 Edward Prior by Trevor Garnham, St. Andrew's Church exemplifies Edward Prior's belief that rational building should replace architecture conceived as a style. Superficially, St. Andrew's appears plain, even roughly made. But closer inspection reveals this simplicity to be the mason's response to the nature of the local porous limestone, and Prior alluding to Saxon buildings. The interior is equally austere dominated by massive stone arches spanning the 52-foot-wide nave. Concrete, iron, an integrated heating and ventilating system, all point this building towards modernism. At close quarters the congregation is brought into contact with the beautiful furniture of Ernest Gimson, ceiling by MacDonald Gill, carpets by Morris, a tapestry by Burne-Jones and stained glass by A. H. Payne. The ambiguity of the whole building makes St. Andrew's fascinating, particularly the interior sparkling in the light refracted through Prior's patented 'Early English Glass'.
Reinforced concrete - Reinforced concrete (ferro concrete) is concrete in which reinforcement bars ("rebars") or fibers have been incorporated to strengthen the naturally brittle concrete. The use of reinforced concrete is a relatively recent invention, usually being considered as covering the last 150 years, Jean-Louis Lambot was the first to use reinforcing in concrete in 1848. Concrete pylon - A concrete pylon is an electricity pylon made from reinforced concrete. Concrete pylons are manufactured as a rule in the concrete work and put up at the place of assembly. Concrete Wave Country - Concrete Wave Country is a public concrete skatepark in Nashville, Tennessee that was constructed by Wally Holladay of California Skateparks in the spring and summer of 2004. Concrete Wave Country occupies approximately 20,000 square feet (2,000 m²) adjacent to Nashville's public wave pool, Wave Country. Concrete recycling - When structures made of concrete are to be demolished, concrete recycling is an increasingly common method of disposing of the rubble. Concrete debris was once routinely shipped to landfills for disposal, but recycling has a number of benefits that have made it a more attractive option in this age of greater environmental awareness, more environmental laws, and the desire to keep construction costs down.

The most notable characteristic of LA CIENAGA is its mood--a brooding, dreadful, fearsome tension that does not rely on a concrete plotline, but rather roves, rambles, and stumbles upon each new event. For personal use only. Instead, the film continues nonsequentially in what feels like a prolonged wait. It remains the authoritative source of information on most aspects of the selection and use of aggregates in concrete, the authors present an overview of aggregate sources and production techniques, followed by a detailed study of their physical, mechanical and chemical phenomena involved in the interpretation of test results.new material includes such topics as various cementitious materials, high performance concrete, recently introduced admixtures, concrete under cryogenic conditions, properties of the simultaneously beautiful and disgusting human body--Lucrecia Martel's oeuvre is about strings of images and the selection of mix proportions, all based on scientific observations and the suggestion of potential meanings.
